21.03.2019 – Curtains are raising on the renewed Speed Euroseries by Ultimate Cup Series that will switch engines on at the Estoril (P) this coming weekend for the opener of the European Championship for CN class sports prototypes.

After a five years long wait, the series will return thanks to the commitment of Ultimate Series and V-Motor Company and is about to do so on one of the most technical circuits in Europe that has kicked off the Speed Euroseries in other occasions previously. This year’s campaign will unfold in seven rounds and lineups will have the chance to take part in the Sunoco 240 Challenge 2019 with prize participation to the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona 2020.

There is a lot of anticipation ahead of this first round of season 2019 as several important European constructors of CN sports prototypes will be present, which decided to get on board in this project by Ultimate Car and V-Motor Company. The opening weekend of Speed Euroseries will be part of the Ultimate Cup Series that will see on track also LMP3, GT and single seaters.

The stage of this opening round is Estoril (P). The 4.182 meters of this Portuguese circuit have witnessed unforgettable pages in the motorsport history, such as the third and final title won by Niki Lauda in 1984 or Ayrton Senna’s F.1. debut in 1985. Estoril is often characterized by wind blowing on the 13 corners and the very long main straight. The first sector of the racetrack is quite technical up to the VIP corner that leads into the fast mid sector which is only slowed down by the Interior Parabolica bend. Following turn 7, Orelha, the circuit gets more technical with the Ayrton Senna long corner that takes drivers back on the main straight.

The program of Speed Euroseries by Ultimate Cup Series will be compacted in two racing days only. Drivers will face the two one-hour-long free practice sessions on Saturday, March 22nd at 9:04 and 14:19 (GMT). The first pole position of the season will be battled out on Sunday morning at 8:00 in the 45 minutes-long qualifying session. The closing act of the weekend will get green lights at 16:20 and will keep drivers busy for three hours.

Racing action will be available through all the web and social channels connected with Speed Euroseries by Ultimate Cup Series like Facebook, Instagram Speed Euroseries, the websites www.speedeuroseries.net and www.series.ultimatecup.racing
