24.04.2019 – After the exciting opener at Estoril, the new Speed Euroseries by Ultimate Cup Series 2019 is about to get on track for the second round at the circuit of Dijon-Prenois (FRA) this coming weekend.
The highly-appreciated European endurance series for CN sports prototypes returned this year thanks to the organizational effort of Ultimate Series and V-Motor Company and in the weekend of April 26-28th it will stage the first French round on a circuit that is in the heart of F1 fans as it marked Alain Prost’s maiden F1 win in 1981 and staged the legendary Villeneuve-Arnoux duel at the French GP in 1979.
The challenge on the technical circuit near Dijon will be condensed into the usual three hours long race during which the perfect mix of speed, reliability and strategy will be needed to get the highest result. The starting grid is to feature very experienced drivers coming from Italy and France, teams like Kraff Racing, DB Autosport and Avelon Formula, and important constructors like Wolf Racing Cars and Norma.
The circuit of Dijon-Prenois is one of the shortest in the calendar with its 3.801 meters, but it is also one of the fastest thanks to its long straights like the main straight Fouine that is over one km long. The first sector is pretty fast all the way up to the Gauche de la Bretelle turn that opens the central, slower part that comprises also the technical Parabolique. The closing sector mirrors the first and ends with the long right-hander Courbe de Pouas that takes drivers back on to the main straight again.
The racing program will kick off on Friday with the first free practice session at 14:20, while the second practice will follow on Saturday at 14:50. The only 45 minutes long qualifying session will take place on Saturday at 17:10, while the race will get green lights on Sunday at 9:55 (all times GMT +2).
All the racing action will be available through the social and web channels connected to Speed Euroseries by Ultimate Cup Series @speedeuseries and updates will also be available from www.series.ultimatecup.racing
