01.10.2019 – A very spectacular weekend with some new high-level lineups and an amazing win for Ivan Bellarosa (Wolf GB08 Tornado): this is the summary of the fifth round of the Speed Euroseries by Ultimate Cup Series 2019 that was ran over the weekend at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia (ESP).

The exciting and unique European Series for sports prototypes of class CN that came to the fore again this year thanks to the commitment of Ultimate Series and V-Motor Company lived a particularly interesting round on the Spanish circuit due also to the arrival of some new teams like TFT Racing and some high-profile drivers like Ander Vilariño Facal (ESP), who has also been contesting the Nascar Whelen Euro Series this year and Vincent Capillaire (FRA), who was among the protagonists in the past of the V de V Endurance Series and took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The great job done by the Balance of Performance distributed the ballast on the cars and produced a very hard-fought round. The challenge for the lead has seen Ivan Bellarosa (ITA) in the #45 Wolf GB08 Tornado run by Avelon Formula challenging TFT Racing’s pairing made by Vilariño Facal and Frédéric Croullet (FRA) in the #18 Norma M20 FC since free practice. The two cars swapped on top of the two free practice sessions which envisaged for the battle that was to come in the rest of the weekend.

Bellarosa took the third pole position of the season in 1’28.278s. Behind him, Vilariño-Croullet completed the front row being only 0.028s shy of the leaders, while Philippe Mondolot (FRA), Marc Faggionato (MCO) and Christophe Kubryk were third in the #40 Norma M20 FC of team Palmyre.

The race started in the mark of Bellarosa that set a great pace and build a good lead on the rivals. During the first hour Matteo Pollini (ITA) and Antoine Miguel (FRA) put in a great drive in the #44 Wolf GB08 Tornado and installed themselves in P2, but had to retire from the race on lap 61 due to an excursion. At that point, Bellarosa was firmly in the lead and the remaining places of the podium were only left up for grabs. Vilariño/Croullet ran a great second part of the race and closed second leading Mondolot-Faggionato-Kubryk. Rupp-Capillaire (Norma M20 FC #57/Krafft Racing) were right at the feet of the podium in fourth.

The challenge in the Speed Euroseries by Ultimate Cup Series 2019 will resume next October 18-20th at the circuit of Nevers Magny-Cours (FRA).
